Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver the OR Tambo Memorial Lecture at Fort Hare University later this month.
Fort Hare says Tambo, a former alumni and Chancellor of the university, was probably the most highly respected around the world.
It says during his stewardship of the ANC he raised its international prestige and status to that of an alternative to the Pretoria regime.
Fort Hare says OR Tambo was received around the world with the protocal reserved for heads of state.
Ramaphosa will deliver the memorial lecture at at the Fort Hare University Sports Complex next Friday.
