The Road Accident Fund has hailed its roadshow in Mdantsane, East London, in July as a great success, saying it settled claims in excess of R20m on the spot.
Fund spokesperson Connie Nel says more than 800 people attended Saturday's event at the Fanti Gaqa Higher Primary School.
The initiative was also attended by a delegation from the Eastern Cape Department of Transport, as well as a number of ward councillors.
Fund CEO, Dr. Eugene Watson, paid a visit to a road accident victim and handed over a wheelchair as part of the RAF's Corporate Social Investment programme.
The aim of the "RAF on the Road" campaign is to bridge the gap between the fund and its customers in order to improve service delivery.
