One person has been killed in a head-on collision on the R72 between Port Alfred and East London.
Provincial traffic department spokesperson Tshepo Machaea says the accident happened at 5-30 Monday morning approximately 45 kilometres outside Port Alfred.
Machaea says a truck collided with a car and that emergency services are at the scene.
The road is partially closed and an animal would appear to have been the cause of the accident.
