Port Elizabeth police have arrested a 36-year old man for allegedly beating his girlfriend with a plank, and strangling her.
Capt. Stanley Jarvis says the body of the 27-year old woman was found at the back of a business premises in Albany road on Saturday.
He says she sustained multiple wounds, including head injuries.
Jarvis says the suspect was arrested shortly afterwards at his workplace.
He says the suspect told police that they had been arguing over R250.
The man will appear in court on Monday on a murder charge.
