The Nelson Mandela Bay Public Health, Waste Management Sub-directorate, would like to advise residents that the Gillespie Waste Drop-Off Site will be closed as of Monday, June 3, 2019. The closure is due to upgrade work that will be done to the site to improve its capability and conditions. The closure will be for a period of approximately four months.
Residents are requested to make use of the Koedoeskloof Disposal Site or the following alternative sites listed below:
Residents are kindly requested to refrain from dumping waste on any land or road other than a licensed site approved by the municipality as this is an offence and a fine of up to R2000 may be imposed on offenders for illegal dumping.
In addition to this, the municipality may also recover the cost of cleaning/removing the illegal dumping from the person/persons to whom the notice was served.
Garden Waste less than 2 tonnes is accepted free of charge at any landfill site.
