An 11-year-old learner was killed on Monday when the taxi he was travelling in crashed on the N2 in East London.
The accident happened near the Amalinda off-ramp towards King Williams Town at about 7.20 am.
It is alleged that the Toyota Avanza with 7 learners on board, overturned, killing the learner instantly.
The other injured were taken to hospital for medical treatment.
The learners were on their way to a local High School in East London.
A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
