A psychiatric patient was killed in Fort Beaufort today, apparently during a fight with another patient.
Eastern Cape health department spokesperson, Sizwe Kupelo says the fight broke out early this morning at the Tower Psychiatric Hospital.
He says the two men quarrelled, but the argument turned physical when they started hitting and kicking each other.
Kupelo says one patient suffered head injuries, and died while being taken to another ward for treatment.
He says the second patient will be transferred to Fort England, a high-security psychiatric hospital in Grahamstown.
