East London police have arrested 15 people for public violence after protests flared up again in Ndevana and Ilitha administration areas.
Police spokesperson, Captain Stephen Marais says the protest action started on Tuesday night where police had to break up pockets of people causing problems in traffic.
Marais says at the protest on Wednesday morning police used stun grenades and fired rubber bullets to quell stone-throwing residents.
Grievances reportedly relate to their unhappiness with the local ward councilor.
Marais says the suspects aged between 18 and 52 will appear in the King Williams court on Thursday.
