A group of residents from Zwide and Kwazakhele in Port Elizabeth allegedly set alight a local councillor's office in ward 27 in Johnson Road near Soweto-On-Sea.
Police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge, said the group started protesting at about 6am on Tuesday morning, allegedly over the ANC's councillor candidate lists.
Beetge said protesters started burning tyres, throwing rubble and rocks on some streets in Kwazakhele before making their way to the councillor's office.
Police are on the scene and monitoring the situation.
Police told Algoa Fm News that the protest seems to be due to councillor candidate lists rather than service delivery.
Meanwhile, residents in Kuyga, in the Greenbushes area, also took to the streets again also allegedly over councillor candidate lists.
According to police the protest erupted on Monday.
Police were also on scene monitoring the situation.
