Port Elizabeth are searching for three men who accosted two security guards late on Monday night then stole a truck laden with tons of rice.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, says the guards alleged that the men arrived at a business premises in Betheldorp Road in a car sporting a blue light.It's further alleged that one of the men wore a jacket resembling a policeman's jacket. Janse Van Rensburg says the guards were ordered to load bags of rice into a second car before they were bundled in and driven to Kwazakhele where they were released.They later alerted police to the robbery.
Janse Van Rensburg says a truck loaded with 26 tons of rice was recovered in Kuyga early on Monday morning, while a hired car believed to have been used by the robbers, was also recovered.
