A Saldahna Bay teacher has been shot and killed on school grounds by a man said to be her ex-husband, before he turned the gun on himself.
The 42-year-old woman was gunned down in the parking lot of the Middlepos Primary School on Wednesday morning.
Her ex-husband's body was found on a road near the school.
It's understood that the teacher's two children and other pupils witnessed the shooting.
Police are investigating a case of murder and have opened an inquest docket.
Provincial Education MEC, Debbie Schafer says she's shocked and saddened.
She says learners were allowed to leave school and social workers and psychologists have been dispatched to assist learners and teachers.
