Eastern Cape police have launched a manhunt for four suspects who robbed the Post Office in Thornhill.
Spokesperson Sergeant Majola Nkohli says it is alleged that an unknown man entered the Post Office on Tuesday morning where he accosted the security guard and held him at gunpoint.
He says the guard was disarmed, and thereafter, another three armed men entered the premises.
Sergeant Nkohli says they entered the manager's office where they pistol-whipped her before stealing her handbag and an undisclosed amount of cash.
She sustained an open wound to her head which required medical attention.
The suspects fled in a white Nissan NP 200 bakkie that was spotted driving towards Gqeberha.
A case of business robbery is under investigation.
