George police are searching for the suspects who robbed the Post Office in Pacaltsdorp on Monday morning of an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie, said a man held up two security officers at gunpoint when they delivered the money to the Post Office early in the morning.
He said the suspect disarmed them and took the bags containing an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot.
Pojie said he and an accomplice then allegedly hijacked a Toyota Corolla at the nearby clinic parking area and drove to Fountain Street where they allegedly got into a getaway car, a Toyota Tazz.
He said they left the hijacked car behind and drove in the direction of Beach Road, where they collided with another vehicle.
They also fired a shot in the direction of the driver, barely missing him before abandoning the second car in Rebecca Street.
Pojie said that Pacaltsdorp SAPS have opened a case of business robbery case for further investigation and have appealed to anyone who may have information on the suspects’ whereabouts to contact their nearest police station.
