Post mortem unravels mystery of missing PE woman


Port Elizabeth police have confirmed that they have found the remains of a woman in a farmhouse that burnt to the ground last week

Police spokesperson, warrant officer Alwin Labans says this was confirmed on Friday by the results of a post mortem.

A distraught relative told Algoa FM News that they believe the remains to be those of 58-year-old Margaret Bently, who was reported missing after the fire gutted her house on the Goedemoetsfontein smallholding in Kragga Kamma last Sunday.

A 65-year old wheelchair bound man died in the blaze wile another family member made it out alive.

The cause of the fire is still not known.
