Convicted fraudster and former top education official, Portia Sizani will learn her fate in the Port Elizabeth Commercial Crimes Court on Monday.
She was found guilty in March of defrauding the Eastern Cape Education Department in a R1.2 million scam related to posts for Grade R teachers.
In his judgment, Commercial Crimes Court Magistrate, Mputhumi Mpofu said Sizani used people who were desperate for jobs and lured them into her scam by promising them employment in the department.
He found her guilty on 15 counts of fraud and nine counts of money laundering.
Sizani was, however, acquitted on six counts of money laundering and another count of fraud.
The wife of the former ANC Chief Whip in Parliament, Stone Sizani, currently lives in Germany where her husband is serving as an ambassador.
Sizani has been out on bail since the trial commenced in 2013.
