A doctor from Port Elizabeth was arrested on Thursday morning for allegedly sexually assaulting a 38 year old patient.
The 62 year-old doctor was arrested at his practice in Rowallan Park in full view of his staff and patients waiting in the reception area.
He is being held in custody and is due to appear in court soon.
The victim, whose identity is known to Algoa FM, laid a charge against the doctor in July last year.
The doctor allegedly touched her breasts and tried to kiss her during an examination.
The victim says the alleged incidents took place during two separate consultations with the doctor in February and June last year.
AlgoaFM news has reliably learnt that this is not the first time allegations of sexual assault have been leveled against the doctor.
