PE man killed on his bicycle while crossing bridge

A 40 year-old man was killed on Thursday morning when he was hit by a truck while crossing the JohnTallant bridge outside Port Elizabeth on his bicycle. 

The victim was a local resident in the area and not a recreational cyclist. 

His name has not yet been released. 

Police captain Andre Beetge says the victim was dragged under the passing truck when it clipped his handle bars. 

A case of culpable homicide is being investigated.
