Port Elizabeth couple convicted on sexual assault charges

A Port Elizabeth couple charged with more than a dozen sexual offences, including the rape of two minor children, has been convicted in the city's high court on several of those charges.

Today, Judge Belinda Hartle, convicted a 42-year-old Rowallan Park woman on five of the charges.

Her 40-year-old partner, was convicted on four charges including rape and sexual assault.

A third accused was acquitted in May on all charges.

The trio was accused of engaging in sex on more than one occasion with the woman's 13-year old adopted daughter between December 2011 and February 2012.

Proceedings are continuing.
