Eastern Cape police have opened two inquest dockets, following the death of a man and a woman found with gun shot wounds to their heads in Nemato in Port Alfred.
Spokesperson, Lieutenant Luvuyo Mjekula, says the woman's sister alerted the police that she was being kept against her will in her home.
It is alleged she wanted to go to work, but the man would not let her leave.
He says police arrived at the scene and requested the man to open the door.
Mjekula says police then heard gun shots.
Police are still at the scene doing follow up investigations.
