Port Alfred police have named the fisherman who died on Wednesday when he was knocked overboard from the commercial fishing vessel Hawai near the Kowie River Mouth.
Lieutenant Luvuyo Mjekula has confirmed the man's identity as 55-year-old Michael Fezekile Baku, better known as Harry, from Emakhamangeni Township in Port Alfred.
He says Baku's wife was in a state of shock when he spoke to her on Thursday.
Baku's body was found floating near to the breakwater on the sea side of the Kowie River Mouth on Wednesday afternoon.
The NSRI said it appeared that the commercial fishing boat had been broadsided by a wave while entering the Kowie river mouth and that Baku had been knocked overboard.
