The popular motorcycle event, the Buffalo Rally, has been postponed to the end of October.
The event takes place annually in Mossel Bay and traditionally attracts thousands of motorcyclists to the Southern Cape town.
Nomads Motorcycle Club chairman Luderick Jacoby said they’ve moved the Buff from April to October because of uncertainty over the Covid-19 restrictions on social gatherings.
She added that the hosting of the event in October would be dependent on Government’s Covid-19 restrictions hopefully being lifted by then.
Nickey le Roux at the Mossel Bay Municipality said they were grateful that the event had been postponed and not cancelled.
Le Roux said the rally annually contributes between R12 million and R18 million to the Mossel Bay economy.
She said many of the more than 5 000 bikers who attend the Buffalo Rally return to Mossel Bay after the event on holiday, which further contributes to the economic injection for the town.
