Port Elizabeth police have made use of stun grenades and rubber bullets to disperse a group of over 100 residents protesting outside the Motherwell Police Station.
Captain Andre Beetge, says residents burnt tyres and rubble as well as buckets of human faeces early on Thursday morning and barricaded Tyinira road.
Beetge says the residents are apparently unhappy with housing issues in the area.
A SAPS water canon is now being used to clean up the road.
