A policewoman was shot in the leg and one suspect arrested in a shootout following a robbery in Uitenhage on Tuesday night.
Police Warrant-Officer Gerda Swart says police were called out to a Durban Road business shortly before 8pm.
The robbers started shooting at police, wounding the woman.
Swart says one of the suspects was arrested, but three managed to flee with cash and airtime vouchers.
The 30-year-old policewoman has been admitted to hospital.
