Western Cape police have welcomed the life sentence handed down to Mqwala-seni Ndandani for the murder of restaurant manager, Beverly Sapphire, nearly three years ago in Plettenberg Bay.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Potjie says 44-year old Ndandani was sentenced earlier this month in the Mossel Bay High Court.
Ndandani was also found guilty on two counts of robbery with aggravating circumstances for which he was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.
He was sentenced to a further 10 years on a count of attempted robbery and five years for the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The sentences will run concurrently.
Two other accomplices were sentenced last year to life in jail while a third was jailed for 22 years.
Forty-six year old Sapphire was shot and killed at the Lookout Deck Restaurant during an armed robbery in April 2010.
