Humansdorp police have issued a stern warning to business owners and managers in the area to refrain from carrying large sums of cash as they run the risk of falling victim to cash robberies.
The warning follows an incident in the Main Street of Humansdorp on Saturday when a shop manager was held up and robbed by three armed men.
Captain Gerda Swart says the manager was on his way to a financial institution to deposit an undisclosed amount of cash.
Three suspects fled on foot after robbing him of the money.
The acting Station Commander of Humansdorp, Lt Col Dries Landman asked owners and managers of businesses to consider using the services of a cash management company and to alternate the days and times on which they deposit cash.
Police investigations are continuing.
