Metrorail in the Eastern Cape has opened a case of fraud following a "jobs for cash" scam allegedly run by a woman from King Williams Town.
The rail company says a group of unemployed youths arrived at Metrorail offices in East London yesterday saying they had paid 500 rand each to a woman in Zwelitsha who promised them jobs.
Metrorail has distanced itself from the scam and has warned people against paying money for jobs.
A case of fraud has also been opened with the police.
