Eastern Cape police have made more than 20-thousand arrests for serious crime incidents since the start of Operation Duty Calls in October.
Its main objective is to ensure a safer festive season.
Provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Marinda Mills says 33 of the Eastern Cape's most wanted suspects were arrested this month by the Provincial Tracing Team.
More than three tons of dagga and 10-thousand Mandrax tablets have been seized.
Mills said the proliferation of firearms was a priority and 518 firearms had been confiscated and removed from the hands of criminals.
More than 1-thousand 900 roadblocks were conducted and contributed toward the recovery of 395 stolen vehicles.
