Eden Cluster police arrested close to 100 suspects this weekend following weekend operations.
Sergeant Chris Spies says three of them were arrested by vigilant members of the Knysna Crime Prevention Unit who managed to find stolen goods to the value of R40 000 in their possession.
He says members got information about a vehicle that had left Buffalo Bay under suspicious circumstances and they followed it to a house in an area called White location.
Spies says members descended on the house and recovered jewellery, footwear, clothing, a laptop, cellular phones as well as an undisclosed amount of cash.
These items were stolen during burglaries at Buffalo Bay and Costa Sarda in Knysna earlier in the day.
The suspects, aged 20, 28 and 30, are facing charges of housebreaking and theft and possession of stolen property.
Sergeant Spies says the other suspects were arrested during high visibility patrols in crime stricken areas.
Police had stop and search operations with a special focus at drug and liquor outlets, illegal firearms and the tracing of wanted suspects.
