Western Cape police are continuing the crackdown on abalone smugglers, after a man was caught with abalone worth more than a million rand.
He will appear in court in George on Thursday for the illegal possession of, and trafficking in abalone.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie, says the bust was made by the Attaqua K-9 unit in Oudtshoorn in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The suspect's Toyota Fortuner was also confiscated.
Earlier this month a man from Atlantis in Cape Town appeared in court in Mossel Bay after he was found with abalone with an estimated street value of four million rand.
