Police maintain daily patrols on R-334 between PE and Addo

Police are maintaining daily patrols on the R-334 road between Port Elizabeth and Addo.

This after a Uitenhage businessman was stabbed 12 times when he was attacked by four men on Monday.

According to a report on Friday, the man had stopped to take photos of water-filled potholes on the road when he was attacked.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Dumile Gwavu, said the Addo Road has been identified as a hot-spot and that its now being patroled daily.

Meanwhile, a member of the public, Chris Tye, has also asked motorists to exercise caution on the Addo Road after several recent incidents.

"On the R-334 at the very bottom of the dip there is a lot of water that's coming across the road which has caused severe potholes. On Thursday my wife was riding that road and she witnessed a car parked suspiciously on the left hand side, fortunately another car was with her so nothing happened but people are there." said Tye.
