Multi-million rand investment in Wedgewood golf course

Western Cape property developers Combined Developers have announced a multi-million rand investment in the Wedgewood Golf and Country Estate on the Western outskirts of Port Elizabeth.

At a media day at Wedgewood on Thursday, Combined Developers CEO Wessel Kriek said his Durbanville-based company had concluded a transaction, whereby it will be building 350 homes and 50 apartments at the Estate.

Kriek said his team was already on site and turning the ground for construction of the first 9 homes.

"We bought 350 stands in the lifestyle portion of the estate and 50 sectional title apartments, a total of 400 units and we hoping to achieve sales on those and complete them in the next 4 to 5 years. That's the goal."

Kriek added that with Bay West Mall 7-kilometres down the road fast nearing completion, it was clear to him that the Western part of Port Elizabeth is the new growth-point of the city.

"I saw this course the first time at the end of 2014 and I was so impressed with what I saw, I saw the potential and I was very excited. We immediately started exploring ways of getting combined developers involved which we done successfully earlier this year. I foresee in a couple of years from now a community with hundreds of families living here in beautiful homes." says Kriek.
