An Eastern Cape man has been jailed for 15 years for murder.
Mawande Nkumbi (29) was sentenced in the Tsomo Regional Court on Thursday.
Police said he stabbed 26-year-old Nceba Mbeki to death in a village at Ngqamakhwe in June 2013.
Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, said that "the deceased Nceba Mbeki (26) arrived at Zixhotyeni Location, Hebe-hebe Village Ngqamakhwe on Saturday 22 June 2013 and asked for a sip of liquor from the friend of the accused."
"Before the friend of the accused could respond, the accused drew his knife and stabbed the deceased numerous wounds on his upper body. The deceased died instantly," he said.
Manatha said detectives tracked down and arrested Nkumbi.
