An Eastern Cape man shot his wife and then himself near Mthatha on Sunday.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela says police are following up on information that there may have been a quarrel between the 39 year-old man and his 33-year-old wife.
He says the incident happened in a small village in Ncambele locality, near Mthatha in the early hours of the morning.
Police have opened a murder docket and will also conduct an inquest.
