Police investigate gruesome murder of child in Cradock

Eastern Cape police are investigating the gruesome murder of a six year old boy, whose body was found in the backyard of an open premises in Lingelihle, Cradock on Tuesday.
Spokesperson, Warrant Officer Louis Stone says the boy was allegedly playing with a friend on Monday afternoon, when they were approached by an unknown person, offering them food.
He says the friend ran away and informed the victim’s parents, who started searching for the boy’s whereabouts.
Stone says when they could not find him, they reported him missing at the local police station.
He says the body was found by a passer-by on Wednesday.
The boy sustained several stab wounds to the back.
