Uitenhage police have arrested a suspect following a highjacking in Allan-Ridge in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Basil Seekoei, says a 37-year old man was on his way to work when he was approached by two suspects.
He says the suspects, one of them armed with a firearm, high-jacked his VW golf 7 and fled.
Later on Tuesday afternoon , members from the highjacking task team spotted the same vehicle along the R75.
Seekoei says upon further investigation, police discovered that the vehicle, which was fitted with false number plates and license disk - was the same vehicle which was highjacked during the morning.
He says it was allegedly sold shortly after the hijacking, and a 31-year old Johannesburg man was arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle.
Seekoei says the investigation continues, and more arrests are iminent.
