Police are investigating a case of arson after vehicles belonging to a member of the Oudtshoorn municipality's mayoral committee and a municipal official were torched this week.
The municipality has not ruled out the possibility that the incidents were politically motivated.
The vehicles, one belonging to mayoral committee member Nondumiso Gunguluza and another belonging to acting performance manager, Zukile Tyatya, were badly damaged after being set alight in Bongolethu in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Gunguluza's home was also the target of arsonists in 2011.
Oudtshoorn mayor has condemned the attacks as deplorable and have not ruled out a political motive.
Police have meanwhile appeal to any member of the public who may have information the cases to come forward.
