Containers storing pet food on the premises of the Uitenhage SPCA, have been burnt to the ground and all the pet food inside destroyed.
Uitenhage SPCA Manager, Koos Croucamp, says the blaze started during the early hours of Friday morning.
He says jumbo sale items were also in the containers, which are the SPCA's only storage facility.
Croucamp says this is not the first time something like this happened, the last time people broke into the SPCA'S bakkie and stole tyres.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Gerda Swart says police are investigating a case of malicious damage to property.
