Port Elizabeth police have recovered three firearms and several rounds of ammunition following a fatal shooting in Korsten.
Colonel Priscilla Naidu says 25-year-old Mohammed Sallah died in hospital after being shot several times by three suspects following an argument in Durban Street, where they'd been drinking together on Saturday night.
The shooters then fled on foot.
While busy at the crime scene, members of the Visible Gang Intervention Team and SAPS Gelvandale Crime Prevention Unit received information of possible firearms kept in the rooms at the back of the Durban Street premises.
Acting on the information, police noticed a man throwing something out of the window when he saw them.
A Glock pistol was recovered. On entering the building they recovered a .22 pistol and a Lugar pistol and several rounds of ammunition.
A 32-year-old man was arrested and detained on a charge of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Colonel Naidu says they know who the murder suspects are and that arrests are imminent.
