Police in Gqeberha have opened an inquest docket after the body of a man floating in North End Lake was retrieved.
Spokesperson Captain Andre Beetge says Mount Road SAPS were alerted about the body shortly after 6 pm on Monday.
He says SAPS divers responded to the scene and retrieved an unknown man from the water.
Beetge says an autopsy will be conducted to determine his cause of death.
Just three days prior, the body of an unknown man was discovered under a bridge in Baakens Valley, near the Tramways Building in Gqeberha.
Captain Beetge says the man's hands and feet were tied with electrical wire, and a case of murder is under investigation.
He says they are still trying to identify the victim.
The deceased wore black jeans, a short-sleeve Guess t-shirt, a brown jacket, and black and white sneakers.
The sneakers bear the name "Fend".
According to Beetge, the man also has a cross tattoo on his arm.
