National Police Commissioner, General Khehla Sitole, has activated the 72-hour activation plan to hunt down the killers of a 50-year-old policeman in Port Elizabeth.
The Captain, who was temporarily deployed at New Brighton SAPS, was gunned down in the early hours of Tuesday morning in Tshiwula Street.
General Sitole said that he was shot several times in the head and his firearm stolen.
His identity is being withheld until his next of kin has been informed.
The National Commissioner has also appealed to the anyone who may have information on the murder should contact the Crime Stop number 086 00 10111.
