Members Port Elizabeth's organised crime unit have arrested a 27-year-old suspect for the murder of Gelvandale police sergeant, Willem Pretorius.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Gerda Swart, says the 27-year-old man initially taken in for questioning and later charged with Pretorius' murder.
His body was found in his car in bushes between Motherwell and Uitenhage last Thursday after he was reported missing the day before.
Police also found another man, Ary van Onselen, several metres away.
He had been stabbed several times and remains in a serious condition in hospital.
Swart says the suspect will appear in court on Monday on charges of murder and attempted murder.
