Gqeberha police have arrested a 24-year-old suspect within an hour following a business robbery in Ikamvelihle.
Spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart says the 35-year-old shop owner was asleep inside his business premises in the early hours of Friday morning when he heard a loud noise at the entrance.
He then noticed four men busy making a hole in the wall in an attempt to enter the shop.
One suspect threatened him with a firearm and demanded cash.
Captain Swart says the shop owner threw the cash through the hole.
She says police responded immediately and one suspect was arrested and positively linked to the robbery.
The 24-year-old man is expected to appear in the Motherwell Magistrate's Court on Monday.
Swart says more arrests are expected.
