Cradock police are still searching for possible suspects in the murder of an elderly woman whose body was found inside her farmhouse earlier this week.
Spokesperson, Colonel Sibongile Soci, says 78-year-old Patricia Orpen was discovered with multiple injuries to her body, on the Morgenson farm outside Cradock on Tuesday.
Soci says Orpen's daughter became concerned when she was unable to get hold of her mother and made the gruesome discovery.
Orpen's lifeless body was found in her bedroom.
She says Orpen’s handbag was stolen, as well as her LDV bakkie which was later found partially burnt and abandoned at the Cradock Industrial area.
Soci says the investigation continues and police are appealing to anyone who might be able to assist with information regarding the incident, to contact them immediately
