A 35-year-old man is in police custody in Plettenberg Bay after dagga with an estimated street value of R650 000 was found in his possession.
Spokesperson Sergeant Christopher Spies says the man, who was driving a white Toyota Hilux bakkie, was stopped at a roadblock on the N2 Highway near Plettenberg Bay on Thursday.
He says the driver did not have any documentation on him and was escorted to the Plettenberg Bay police station so that his credentials could be verified.
Sergeant Spies says on arrival, the police conducted a thorough search of his vehicle and found 109 parcels of compressed dagga stashed under vegetables.
It is believed that the dagga was destined for the Southern Cape.
The man is expected to appear in court soon.
