Detectives from Hankey in the Eastern Cape have arrested ten people for being in possession of stolen cell phone tower batteries and other equipment valued at R100 000.
Police spokesperson, Captain Khaya Tonjeni, said that the suspects, aged between 21 and 51, were nabbed in the early hours of Friday morning.
He said the team received valuable information about the stolen property being stashed in Centerton in Hankey.
Tonjeni said police recovered back up batteries, network regulators, compressors and other electronic equipment.
He said they are due to appear in the Hankey Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, on a charge of possession of the suspected stolen property.
