The man accused of brutally killing an eight-year-old Plettenberg Bay girl and dumping her body in bushes near her home will spend the next month undergoing psychiatric evaluation.
The 18-year-old accused, Lulama Candani, briefly appeared in the local magistrate's court on Thursday.
The matter was postponed to the 14 May and Candani was ordered to undergo 30 days of psychiatric evaluation at Valkenberg Hospital in Cape Town.
The Bossiegif resident is accused of murdering his neighbour's child Sesona Bhayibhile.
He's accused of slitting her throat and hiding her body in dense bushes just a few metres from her home.
Sesona went missing on 7 December 2014 after playing with friends near Candani's home.
Candani handed himself over to police in Knysna two days later and pointed out where the body was hidden.
