The George Municipality has unveiled plans for the economic growth of the garden route town.
The plans were presented to local business leaders at the annual general meeting of the George Chamber of Business this week.
Carli Bunding-Venter, who's the municipality's manager for Economic Development, says they had to decide on the most suitable way to create an economic development strategy.
She says this involved adopting a globally recognised strategy which she unveiled at the Chamber meeting.
Bunding-Venter says a series of workshops will be held and the new strategy should be ready for implemenation within a month.
This international tool is applied in 40 countries and the basis is for local stakeholders and local businesses to start working together when identifying projects they can action that will lead to growth in the economy.
