The Bhisho government has welcomed an agreement that could see an end to the impasse that has led to disruptions in education in the province.
The agreement, announced yesterday, followed a meeting this week between premier Noxolo Kiviet, members of her Executive Council and Cosatu leadership, lead by secretary-general, Zwelinzima Vavi.
The agreement has led to the reinstatement of all temporary teachers while a demand by teachers union Sadtu for the axing of education superintendent-general, Modidima Mannya, will continue to be discussed behind closed doors.
Bhisho government spokesperson, Mahlubandile Qwase says the hope is that schooling will return to normality.
