The parole application of former Paralympic champion Oscar Pistorius will be reviewed on Friday with a possible parole date to be set.
The parole board said in a statement Monday it will "decide whether the inmate is suitable or not for social reintegration".
In March, Pistorius's first parole request was rejected after the Department of Correctional Services (DCS) said he had not completed the minimum detention period required to be let out.
The "Blade Runner" has pursued several appeals of his initial conviction, but authorities determined their count from his last conviction, which fell short of half.
The Constitutional Court contradicted this process last month ruling that the count must start from the date of the first instance an inmate was put behind bars.
Pistorius killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in the early hours of Valentine's Day 2013, firing four times through the bathroom door of his ultra-secure Pretoria house.
The athlete pleaded not guilty saying he mistook her for an intruder.
Pistorius became the first double amputee to race in the Olympics, competing at the 2012 London Games.
In August, the Steenkamp's family lawyer Tania Koen told Algoa FM News that they would not oppose the application.
