Three Mossel Bay charities were the big winners following this past weekend’s IRONMAN 70.3 event in the seaside town.
The ISUZU Foundation has donated a total of R250,000 to the charities in collaboration with IRONMAN 4 the Kidz, the official IRONMAN charity.
The foundation, a partnership between the company and its dealers, contributed R100 for each entry into the 2023 event in aid of three registered charities that focus on uplifting youth.
The charities to receive the shot-in-the-arm are Education and Training Hub for Autism (ETHAN), Creating Effective Families, and Eden Protocol.
ETHAN assists, guides, and educates children and their families on how to support loved ones with autism while Creating Effective Families is a place of safety and guidance for women with children who are victims of domestic and violent abuse.
The third organisation, Eden Protocol, “focuses on building the confidence, resilience, and commitment of youth through sport, particularly swimming, surfing, and lifesaving.”
"As the ISUZU Foundation, we believe the youth are our future and that we have a duty to boldly do more in our efforts of making a meaningful impact on their social and emotional well-being," said ISUZU's Marcia Mayaba, the executive for dealer and business development in South African Customs Union Markets (SACU).
